At Hounsdown, we believe in promoting positive physical health, mental health and emotional wellbeing.

On this page, we have gathered some helpful links and resources to support you.

We hope that the resources we provide encourage you to take responsibility for your own health and wellbeing, empower you to seek help when you need it, and support you in developing skills that will equip you for not only education, but later life as well.

Please remember that if you are concerned about your own wellbeing, or that of one of you friends, you can contact safeguarding@hounsdown.hants.sch.uk. This address is monitored 365 days a year.

Mindfulness Moments

Whatever your age, mindfulness is a great tool to help you lead a mentally healthier life and improve your wellbeing.

There are many ways that you can pay more attention to the present moment and practice mindfulness. We have listed a few things that you can try below:

Yoga: You will probably have done some yoga in PE because it has a lot of physical health benefits, as well as mental. There are thousands of videos online to help you get started, including this one!

Guided Meditation: Meditation on your own can often seem quite intimidating. Apps like Headspace provide guided meditation sessions to help lead you through the process. They even have a show on Netflix!

Breathing exercises: Close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths. Imagine there is a balloon in your belly. Each time you breathe in, imagine it getting bigger and each time you breathe out, imagine it getting smaller.
