Change Lives: Train to Teach

Our school is proud to be part of the i2i Teaching Partnership SCITT, an Ofsted Outstanding established provider of secondary and primary teacher training.

i2i believe that great teachers change lives. Recognised for their innovative, flexible and highly supportive approach, their training programmes are designed to give aspiring teachers the practical experience, guidance, and support they need to start their teaching careers with confidence. Our shared purpose is clear: to develop exceptional teachers and future leaders who will improve the life chances of every young person they teach.

i2i has extensive experience in delivering school centred initial teacher training (SCITT) programmes that are grounded in research-led practice. All programmes lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Led by experienced practitioners, trainees gain practical, real-world classroom experience while building the skills and confidence needed to become outstanding teachers. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, i2i was rated Outstanding in all areas, reflecting the quality of training and support on offer. i2i places a strong emphasis on personalised support - ensuring trainees are guided, coached and cared for at every stage of their journey, and become valued members of the i2i community right from the start.

With training centres in Farnham, Reigate, Shepperton, Basingstoke and Southampton, and a wide network of diverse partner schools across Surrey, Hampshire, West London and the South Coast, i2i can ensure trainees are placed close to home so they can focus on developing their practice without a long commute and can build a career in their local community.

We are proud to partner with the i2i Teaching Partnership, an Ofsted Outstanding established provider of secondary and primary teacher training. Bitterne Park Teacher Training Alliance

The Bitterne Park Teacher Training Alliance is a growing partnership comprising a diverse range of secondary schools across Hampshire which present dynamic and exciting training possibilities for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching.

Our school-led teacher training programme is delivered in partnership with the University of Winchester and combines the best elements of a traditional university-led PGCE training model with the benefits of a school-centred approach. Whether you are a recent graduate or are considering a career change, our teacher training programme will equip you with the skills to teach your subject confidently and successfully.

As a trainee teacher on our programme, you’ll be given the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in school life and will be welcomed as a member of staff in your placement school from day one. This approach will allow you to experience all aspects of the role of a teacher, both inside and outside the classroom. The practical nature of our course, combined with the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced, outstanding practitioners, constantly reinforces the link between theory and practice.

We aim to ensure that by the end of the course you can teach your subject confidently and successfully by developing your skills as a problem solver and by encouraging you to explore theoretical ideas and their practical application in the classroom.

The University of Winchester has a long history in teacher education and is recognised by Ofsted as an ‘Outstanding’ provider.  The University offers a stimulating and supportive learning environment that challenges and inspires trainees.  The City of Winchester is a beautiful, historic cathedral city which has a rich heritage and vibrant contemporary culture.  During your training year you will have the full support of the University and access to all facilities.  Successful completion of our course will lead to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The programme also contributes towards a Master’s level qualification.
